Hello.

Hi, I am Ian Snowley
Dean of Student Learning Development and University Librarian at the University of Lincoln

Ian is Dean of Student Learning Development and University Librarian at the University of Lincoln, with overall responsibility for Archive Collections in the University and The University Art Collection. He has a role in facilitating the University’s partnerships with external bodies in respect of libraries and archives, and is currently working to support the development of reading and writing in the local community.

Ian’s role

Ian played an integral part in the organisation and delivery of the inaugural Heritage Dot conference, and looks forward to working on the next event. He is interested in the intersection of Libraries, Archives and Culture – exploring issues of Heritage and engagement with collections. As co-convenor (with Heather Hughes) of the University’s Heritage and Archives Network (HAN), Ian hopes to help develop the Centre’s engagement with experts inside and outside the University to form new collaborations in research and user engagement in these areas.

A bit of background

Ian is a chartered Librarian with over 30 years professional experience, and an MBA. His experience has been developed working in a range of sectors, including public, government and medical libraries as well as extensive experience in Higher Education libraries.

And finally…

Ian’s interests include modern Art, the ways that places become destinations, international travel and collaborations, and following Formula 1 motor racing.
