Hello.

Hi, I am Sophie Arnold

Sophie is the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Transported. Her job is to make sure as many people as possible know about the fantastic work that Transported deliver across Boston and South Holland.

Sophie’s role

As the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Transported, Sophie’s role is to ensure that Transported is well known across the areas that the project delivers its programme – Boston, South Holland, and within the University of Lincoln in which C4CC sits.

Sophie ensures that both residents and partners hear about all of the events and opportunities that Transported present, and that its ethos of empowering communities with inspiring sustainable art is heard loud and clear!

On a day-to-day basis this means updating the website, managing social media, acquiring press coverage, creating publicity tools like posters and flyers, and maintaining the mailing list.

A bit of background

Having loved acting from a very young age, Sophie first encountered the community arts world at age 10, as a participant of the performing arts summer school MaDD, operated by artsNK (Transported’s sister organisation).

After graduating with first-class degree in Media Production from Bournemouth University, Sophie returned to Lincoln and became a Drama Tutor Assistant at MaDD summer school, the very one she had been a student at herself over a decade earlier. Following this, Sophie progressed through multiple roles at artsNK and the National Centre for Craft and Design (following their merger in 2018), and is currently the Marketing Assistant at the centre.

Having experienced creating promotional films and marketing materials whilst at University, Sophie began freelancing for Transported as a Marketing Coordinator in 2018. Once the organisation began their third phase of Creative People and Places funding, Sophie gained the employed role of Marketing and Communications Coordinator, putting her freelance hat behind her.

Sophie is currently the youngest board member of Charcot-Marie-Tooth UK, a small national charity that supports those with the progressive nerve and muscle wasting disability CMT (Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease).

And finally…

Sophie still likes to dabble in the performing arts world and has directed and written productions for ACTion Community Theatre. She can be found painting sets, prop making, sound effect editing, script highlighting or self-consciously bossing actors around in the theatre.

When not on the stage, Sophie loves to produce short films and radio. She is also very proficient at eating delicious food.
